New Findings on Facial Aging
  aspslogo
A study in June's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, reveals the human face is made up of distinct fat compartments that individually change with age. What's more, the degree to which our faces age is dependent, in part, on how these compartments change over time.

The face is three-dimensional puzzle with fat units around the forehead, eye, cheek and mouth. The desired youthful face is characterized by smooth transition between these areas. However, as we age, abrupt contours occur between these regions.

There is a clear benefit for both doctor & patient. This new discovery will enable surgeons to accurately pinpoint patient trouble areas and use effective injectable fillers to treat and correct the specific section of the face.

The Impact of Silicone, an ASPS Survey

More than half of ASPS Member Surgeons predict they will preform up to 25% more breast augmentations in the next 12 months and that 40% of all patients will choose silicone. These findings appear in a new report from an American Society of Plastic Surgeons' survey about the impact of the reintroduction of silicone breast implants.

Breast augmentation was the top surgical cosmetic procedure in 2006.

"Plastic surgeons are receiving positive feedback from their breast augmentation patients since the approval of silicone implants," said ASPS President Roxanne Guy, MD.

Doctors and patients agree having the option of saline or silicone implants opens discussion between both parties to see what is best for them.

Dr. Danyo & Dr. Banbury will discuss at length all options available to you. They help to guide you through all aspects of your surgical procedure so that you are a well educated patient. Call today to set up your consultation.

Anytime = SPF

People tend to only use sunscreen in the summer while engaging in water sports, a day at the beach or an outside activity.

Would you believe 2 minutes of casual sun a day at the end of one year would equal 2 full weeks of sunbathing. It does.

To this conclusion it is imperative you use sunscreen daily in conjunction with your skincare regimen. Take the time now to proactively take care of future aging. It only takes the size of 1 pea to cover your entire face and protect your skin for the day.
