"Mommy Makeover" procedures accounted for the most growth of overall cosmetic plastic surgery procedures in 2006. Women in this category are considered to be in the age range of 20-39.
"In this day and age, women are giving birth later, returning to their careers sooner, and have busier schedules than ever before. Many are finding cosmetic plastic surgery to be the answer to returning to a pre-pregnancy shape they are comfortable with," said ASPS President Roxanne Guy, MD.
More than 325,000 tummy tuck, breast augmentation and breast lift procedures were performed on women in this age range. This is an 11% increase over the previous year.
Dr. Danyo & Dr. Banbury feel that a woman's pre- pregnancy body can be regained though exercise and a healthy diet - however - certain problematic areas can also be addressed using cosmetic surgery. Included in that category would be breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck and/or liposuction.
