A common cosmetic complaint is the neck. Fullness around the face gives the illusion that the rest of the body is heavy, even if it is not. Wrinkled skin on the neck adds years to your actual age. Both are troublesome issues that patients find troublesome because the neck simply cannot be remedied with exercise or products. But now, with the help of lasers, Botox and liposuction, creepy necks and double chins are meeting their match.
Tumescent liposuction is used to effectively address the double chin dilemma. Very small incisions are used behind the earlobes and under the chin. There is very little bleeding and is may be done under a local anesthetic. Patients experience very little down-time with minimal bruising & swelling, and the result is permanent.
A similar effect can be achieved using Botox. Botox is injected into the muscles running vertically down the neck. This removes the downward pull so other muscles take over to pull the double chin tight. There is no down-time with this procedure and the effects will last for 3-4 months.
